On February 19, 2010 Vermilion
House will host the launch and grand opening of
Aalamwaar mini-shop on its premises. The mini-shop will
feature Aalamwaar's signature garments made with natural
fabrics and natural dyes. These include hand-painted
saris, stoles, contemporary casual & evening wear,
tunics and accessories.
Vermilion House is an
avant-garde boutique and gallery, and the brain child
of Uma Rao, an art connoisseur and antiquarian.
She is well known for her exquisite taste and endless
resources of rare Indian antiques.
Edgeware, the frame and book shop housed under
the same roof is run by Bina Rao, who offers a
wide selection of frames for your treasured artworks and
paintings. Her offerings of books will keep you both
updated and intrigued.
Purvi Patel carefully researches age old textile
patterns and embroideries before she designs each
collection of traditional cholis (blouses) and kurthas
(tunics). Her collections are displayed at Vermilion
house as well.
